The confidence and swagger are flowing through the Chicago Bears and their quarterback, Caleb Williams, after a great 2025 season.
Coming off a division title and playoff run to the Divisional Round, Williams appeared on Maxx Crosby's podcast "The Rush with Maxx Crosby," where the young signal caller has some big goals for his team in 2026. Williams told Crosby he's got one record he is focused on breaking.
"I really want to become the greatest offense this year," Williams said via Bleacher Report. "So that's really on my mind, being able to find ways to put up points every single time we're out there. And so, you know, honestly, whatever, whatever that comes down to. And I think that starts with the first two of what I said is, you know, getting these completions, starting drives, getting drives going, and then, you know, helping with protection or making sure that I deliver some easy, easy, what we call runner balls. And getting these drives going and scoring. I think the average was 38.5 or something like that from Denver. That Peyton [Manning] year, where he had 50 touchdowns. ... I think it's 39 is the number, you know, average score. That's what we're going for."
Caleb Williams wants to break records in 2026
This is exactly what the Bears fan base wants to hear from their young quarterback, who is in his element entering his third NFL season. Williams should be targeting NFL records and might be the guy to do so.
The 2013 Denver Broncos currently hold the NFL record for most points in a season with 606, and the 2011 New Orleans Saints hold the NFL record for most yards in a season with 7,474. Williams and the Bears' offense have some work to do, as they scored 441 points and gained 6,282 yards last year. They were ranked sixth in the NFL in yards per game with 369.2 and ninth in scoring with 25.9.
Chicago has the weapons to get the job done with a deep, wide receiver room with Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, and Luther Burden, as well as Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet at tight end. The running backs made major strides in 2025, led by Kyle Monangai and D'Andre Swift.
It helps to have Williams leading the offense after breaking a franchise record 3,942 yards and scoring 30 total touchdowns last season. He led an NFL-record seven comeback and game-winning drives last season for the Bears.

Add in the offensive genius at head coach Ben Johnson, and the Bears have everything they need to take major strides in 2026. This offense can only go up from here.
