It's a miracle!! Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is going to be okay.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero first reported that Williams avoided any major injury on his hamstring from the test they had. The Bears won't rule out Williams for the Week 3 Monday Night Football showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Williams injured his hamstring late in the fourth quarter of their 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He finished the game completing 15-of-26 for 138 yards and one interception, adding 42 rushing yards on five carries.
Caleb Williams might actually play for the Bears against the Eagles in Week 3
This is quite the surprise for the Bears fan base after seeing Williams scream in pain over his injury. It appears as though disaster has been avoided, but there still concern about when he will come back.
The Bears won't rule Williams out, but it is not 100% that he will play either. If he can't go, the ball goes into Tyson Bagent's hands for his first career start since the 2023 season.
Williams has been as durable as they come at the quarterback position, never missing a game in the NFL. He did have a hamstring injury back in college with the USC Trojans, so he knows how to properly recover from this injury.
Still, it's going to be interesting to see how the team looks without Williams this week in practice, or does he practice the whole week? The other part is whether it's worth keeping him on the field or letting him sit for one game.
Chicago is about to face one fo the top defenses in the NFL with the Eagles. Philly has not allowed over 300 yards in a game this season so far.
If Chicago were smart, they might protect their quarterback from further injury. Even if Williams does play, how affective will he be? He won't be 100% and can't use his legs to make plays, which is the best part of his game.
The Bears' offense will become one-dimensional, relying on the running game and forcing Williams to win in the pocket. That's not what Williams likes to do or is comfortable doing. He wants to be able to run out of the pocket and make plays.

This week in practice will be the most important for the Bears, as to see how things go with Williams.
