Last year at training camp, Chicago Bears fans were curious about how quarterback Caleb Williams and head coach Ben Johnson would make it work together.
After going 11-6, winning the NFC North, and making the NFC Divisional Round, this training camp is different. Bears fans want to see the Williams-Johnson duo progress and deliver better results.
Williams spoke with the media after the first day of training camp, where he talked about working with Johnson in Year 2. He shared what he is willing to do for Johnson to claim the ultimate prize: the Super Bowl.
"I know we have a real common goal, and it's to find a way to make the Chicago Bears champions at the end of the day,' Williams said via The Score's Chris Emma. "What he says to me, I'll do it 200% and won't look back."

It was a great start last season, as Johnson got Williams to show his untapped potential on the field after a rough rookie campaign. Williams threw for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions, scoring four more touchdowns in other ways. The Bears' franchise quarterback led an NFL record seven comebacks and game-winning drives in the regular season and playoffs.
Williams seems to be on the same page as Johnson and is learning the offense much faster. There is more comfort with a very complex system, which is a good thing.
Johnson is going to start pushing Williams more and get more creative with the play-calling. The two have figured out what works and what the limitations are, so they can build on it and improve.
The biggest question with Williams is whether he can improve his accuracy in 2026 after completing just 58% of his passes. Johnson chalked it up to learning a complex offense, but the goal is to complete 70% of his passes by the end of the 2026 season.

This Bears offense seems to be where they want to be, with the young talent taking bigger roles and improving. It doesn't work, though, if Williams can't run the offense the way Johnson wants him to. So far, it appears as though Williams is on the right path to fulfilling Johnson's destiny with the Bears on offense.
