The Chicago Bears picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, and they did it in dominant fashion, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 31-14.

After the game, Caleb Williams downplayed the fact that former Bears coach Matt Eberflus was on the opposing sideline, saying the team wants to play well against everyone. However, there is someone else on the Cowboys who may have made this win a little sweeter for Chicago.

That someone else is wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. The star wideout left the game early with an ankle injury, so he didn’t have a chance to affect the outcome with his play, but the Bears seemingly had some of Lamb’s previous comments on their mind.

During the offseason, the receiver joined a stream and discussed how the Chicago team was not good. Following the game, Caleb Williams reposted a TikTok video that showed those comments before transitioning into highlights from Chicago’s win over Dallas.

The Bears are enjoying their win over the Cowboys

In Lamb’s defense, the full clip of his original statement is him explaining how much the league can change year to year. He was actually highlighting Chicago as a team that took all the necessary steps to quickly turn things around. However, social media isn’t going to let the truth get in the way of a great edit — an edit that Williams clearly enjoyed.

The Bears are hoping to prove Lamb’s point, though. After going 5-12 last season, Chicago is determined to be a contender this year. With Ben Johnson taking over as head coach and several promising player acquisitions, the Bears appear to be a team, on paper, that could make some noise. Games are won on the field, though.

Chicago didn’t get off to the best start, blowing a fourth quarter lead in Week 1, and being blown out in Week 2, but the team is hoping things changed after picking up a win.
