Caleb Williams didn't mince words about his feelings on Raiders' Maxx Crosby

The Chicago Bears survived a tough game against the Las Vegas Raiders 25-24 on Sunday.

While many fans do not see the Raiders as some elite team in the NFL, the Bears quarterback saw that as a statement win. Why? Because the team beat arguably the best defensive player in the entire NFL.

Caleb Wiliams has high praise for elite pass rusher

Caleb Williams noted after the game that he believes Maxx Crosby is "probably the best player [he's] played against." That is high praise despite a short career.

Crosby is viewed as one of the league's best. He entered the season averaging 10 sacks per season and had 34.5 sacks in the past three seasons, coming into this one. Beyond already being an elite force, Crosby was put in a position to succeed today.

Without Darnell Wright, the Bears were leaning on Theo Benedet to start at right tackle. Then, early into the game, they made a switch and pushed Benedt to left tackle and moved rookie Ozzy Trapilo into the right tackle spot

So, now Crosby has to face two different players, both facing their most significant NFL snap counts to date, and one came in a bit cold off the bench. Needless to say, Crosby had a good day. He forced a fumble and intercepted a pass. Crosby nearly intercepted another pass earlier in the game as well. Chicago simply could not run to his side.

In total, he had three passes deflected and three tackles for loss. He was the biggest impact player on the entire game.

The Raiders' defense is mostly bad. Pete Carroll inherited a struggling unit, and he is implementing numerous changes to establish his culture. With that in mind, there are a few players beyond Crosby to worry about.

It is notable that despite all eyes on Crosby, he still performed in such an elite manner. It is no surprise that Williams has such a glowing review of Crosby after his first time seeing him.

Hopefully, when he sees someone like Micah Parsons, Myles Garret, or TJ Watt, the offensive line will be in better standing.
