It just wouldn't be a normal day of Chicago Bears training camp without quarterback Caleb Williams putting up a stellar performance.
Last year, many negative reports focused on how the offense performed under head coach Ben Johnson's new scheme. This season has been the polar opposite, with more reports about the offense doing well.
Much of that comes down to how Williams is performing and the full control he has had over the offense. This latest practice the Bears had, though, was completely different from the others, as Williams completely dominated the defense in the way the fan base is now fully expecting to happen daily.
Caleb Williams shines in latest Bears training camp practice
Reports from camp said this was a great performance by the Bears' offense. BearReport's Zack Pearson detailed how Williams kicked off the offense in the right way.
"Bears practice is officially done for today. Short one as they went for about 45 min. Caleb Williams started off 7 on 7 with three straight TDs. He threw one to Colston Loveland and then back to back to Rome Odunze."
Chicago's offense is more dangerous than ever heading into the 2026 season. Williams is leading the way, but with weapons like Odunze and Loveland, they're even more dangerous.
It helps that the Bears are getting healthier on offense again. Rookie wide receiver Zavion Thomas is back from injury and practicing. While Luther Burden III is still out, he is looking good to be ready by Week 1. Even on the offensive line, Ozzy Trapilo might actually be back by Week 1 at left tackle, so the group is getting better.
The only concern about the Bears' offense right now is with running back Kyle Monangai. Right now, Monangai is week-to-week with a hyperextended knee injury.
Still, Williams is running the show and seems to be getting better and better each week. His accuracy seems to be improving, and his decision-making is much further along than it was last year.
There are high expectations for Williams entering the 2026 season, with many seeing an NFL MVP closer than some think. He has the skills to get the job done, but he may show growth in Year 3.
