The Chicago Bears will not go winless in 2025! The Bears recorded their first win of the Ben Johnson era, absolutely taking it to the Dallas Cowboys with a 31-14 final at Soldier Field. The Bears are now 1-2 and there's a lot to take away from this double-digit win.
One would think that Johnson would have been happy and/or excited during the game considering how rough things have been for him and his squad so far, but to anyone watching him on the sidelines, Johnson didn't look pleased. Why was that?
Tom Rinaldi spoke with quarterback Caleb Williams after the game and asked about his head coach's lack of smiles during the big win. Williams chuckled when answering the question.
"Obviously, we left a lot of points on the board. Offense, defense. So, obviously he's going to be how he is about that."
Caleb Williams explained Ben Johnson’s emotionless look after Bears beat Cowboys
Yeah, this checks out. While Bears fans are mostly going to focus on the positives and the happy emotions that come from winning a game (especially the first win of the season), it makes sense that a head coach wouldn't be content with simply winning a football game. He wants the offense to score on every drive, the defense to pitch a shutout, and the special teams unit to execute what they need to flawlessly.
Johnson expects the best from his team and until the Bears give him that, he's not going to be smiling and offering high-fives on the sideline. We'll see if that intensity helps the Bears or hurts them as the season progresses but no one can say that Johnson isn't taking this whole thing seriously.

Next up for the Bears is a trip to take on another 1-2 team, as they'll head to Las Vegas to play the Raiders. Will Johnson crack a smile during that game? I guess we'll find out when Week 4 rolls around.
