The Chicago Bears' offense turned a corner in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys. Caleb Wiliams completed passes to eight different receivers as he threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns, including a career-best for any half, 249 yards in the first half.

A 19-play, 76-yard drive in the second half took nearly 10 minutes off the clock and sealed the game.

There will be tougher tests than the Dallas defense, but you never apologize for success, and the Bears' first win of the season felt different all the way around.

During the week heading into the game against the Cowboys, head coach Ben Johnson said he planned to get rookies Colston Loveland and Luther Burden more involved in the offense. A hip injury in the first half derailed that coming to fruition for Loveland, but a first quarter flea-flicker announced Burden's presence in a big way.

Burden finished the game with a team-high 101 receiving yards on three catches, and he also had one carry for seven yards. When it was all said and done, he still only played 17 offensive snaps, one fewer than he did in Week 1 and just shy of a 29 percent snap share.

Burden has had an uphill climb for a prominent role in the Bears' offense this season since he was drafted. An injury that sidelined him for OTAs made that climb a little more difficult, especially for the early part of the season.

Caleb Williams foreshadows what's coming for Luther Burden

Burden's impact on the Bears' offense was undeniable against Dallas, and it's fair to assume Johnson will find ways to get him more involved moving forward.

After the game, Williams highlighted the path Burden is on.

"As you all know, as Luther said, if you get the ball in his hands, it's a problem," Williams said. "We always want to be able to get our guys the ball. And today I think Luther showed up big time for us. He's continuing to grow. We're excited for him and his growth. And I think being able to get him the ball builds a lot of confidence for him, a lot of trust between us and the coaches and myself as his QB, and we're going to keep growing and he's going to be a big playmaker for us."

Burden made himself impossible to ignore against the Cowboys. His path to significant snaps this season is still pretty clogged, but in time, he could become the Bears' No. 2 wide receiver, and he might not surrender that place in the pecking order for a long time.
