The first-year struggles with Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in 2024 were real: he dealt with dysfunction on the coaching staff, three different play callers, and a team that went 5-12, but that all changed for the better last year.
Williams transformed into a clutch quarterback and used his talents to lead the Bears to an 11-6 record and a small playoff run. Bears tight end Cole Kmet spoke to the media about the changes he noticed with Williams when it came to his demeanor in the huddle and pre-snap.
"He got better at that as the season went on," Kmet said via 247Sports' Zack Pearson. "He continued to progress in that regard."

It was a topic of discussion with head coach Ben Johnson last year, as he challenged Williams to be a better leader and quarterback on offense. Johnson coached Williams on improving his body language and on never showing anything wrong while on the field or on the sidelines.
Williams responded well to that coaching, and fans and teammates have noticed a change in him as he has become a better leader for the franchise. Going into his third year, he still has work to do in that area, but he's trending in the right direction.
He's the type of quarterback the Bears needed, as he showed how cool and calm he is when adversity is staring him in the face. Seven times in the regular season and playoffs, he led a comeback and game-winning drive in 2025, which is an NFL record.
