Coming off an emotional 25-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, many would think all the Chicago Bears players would take some much-deserved time off during their bye week. Their franchise quarterback doesn't have that mindset, and everyone should appreciate hearing that.

Since this is a bye week, the Bears' work schedule will be different. They practiced on Tuesday, as that will be their only one for the week. On Wednesday, they will lift. After that, they are free to enjoy their four-day weekend.

Many wondered what Bears quarterback Caleb Williams would do with his four days off. Williams delivered the perfect answer that anyone would expect their captain to respond with.

"I think work on my body," Williams told the media in his press conference on Tuesday. "Make sure that's ready for this stretch of games we have, 13 after this. Just being able to prepare. Take a day off or so and let my mind rest a little bit. Just because it's a bye week doesn't mean it's a week off, so it's just being able to come in here and make sure my body is right and make sure my mind is right for those days coming up."

Chicago's franchise quarterback continues to deliver the goods when needed

Everyone knew going into the 2025 season that it was going to be a big one for Williams. He needed to show not only the Bears' fan base, but also his head coach, Ben Johnson, that he could be the franchise quarterback they had been seeking for decades.

So far, Williams is passing with flying colors. He's currently 11th in the NFL in passing yards with 927 and is tied for third in touchdown passes with seven. The best statistic he has going is the interceptions, as he has only one through four weeks.

Williams has proven over the last four weeks that he can run Johnson's offensive system without putting the ball in harm's way. He's making great decisions and picking up yards on the ground in critical moments.

The good news is that Williams is still on pace to pass for over 4,000 yards, the first time that would ever happen in franchise history. He's doing all the right things and could be well on his way to his first Pro Bowl selection. He might even earn a playoff trip if he continues to play so well.
