For the first time since Ben Johnson was introduced as the Chicago Bears head coach, Caleb Williams met with reporters as the team began their offseason program.
It seems that Johnson has wasted no time in establishing what the Bears' identity will be under his watch while also making sure Williams is feeling challenged.
It was this time last year that the Bears were finalizing their plans to select Williams with the top spot in the 2024 NFL Draft. One year later, the Bears hold the No. 10 selection in the draft and there isn't a clear direction that the team appears to be leaning.
Recent mock drafts. have suggested that the Bears may continue their efforts to provide Williams with as much support as possible. After adding three new starters to the Bears' offensive line this offseason, Mel Kiper of ESPN had the Bears selecting Penn State tight end Tyler Warren as the No. 10 pick in his recent mock draft.
Williams was asked for his thoughts on what the Bears should do with the No. 10 selection.

The Bears are in a position where they can take the best player available when they are on the clock in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Having said that, the team should give serious consideration to trading back. There are exceptions and if one of Will Campbell, Mason Graham, Ashton Jeanty, or Warren are still available when the Bears are making their selection, then they should pick that player. However, it's more likely that all of their players will be gone. If that's the case, the difference between selecting a player at No. 10 and selecting a player in the mid-teens or later in the first round is not as noticeable as it has been in previous years.

Of course, it's likely that Williams would want an offensive player if the Bears were to keep their first-round selection. With that in mind, despite fan concerns about his arm size, Campbell would be an ideal selection as it would complete the overhaul of the Bears' offensive line.
