The Chicago Bears are rolling strong through the first three days of training camp, but a problem is brewing at Halas Hall.
Multiple Bears reporters have shared that running back Kyle Monangai has now been absent from training camp for two days in a row. There is no word on what the cause is or why he is not there.

Monangai was the surprise breakout star of the 2025 season for the Bears, rushing for 783 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games last season. He also had 18 receptions for 164 receiving yards.
Kyle Monangai not being at Bears camp is becoming more of a concern now
Missing one day of practice is not the end of the world, but seeing him miss two straight days is now bordering on needing answers. The hope is that everything is okay with Monangai and that it isn't anything too serious with his personal life.
Monangai is going to play a massive role in this offense entering the 2026 season, backing up D'Andre Swift. The Bears were ranked third in the NFL last year in rushing because of Swift's speed and Monangai's power. Swift and Monangai combined for over 1,700 yards and 14 touchdowns between the two.
At least if there is a silver lining to this situation, it's that the Bears are finding other backs that are stepping up to the plate. The Score's Chris Emma reported that Salvon Ahmed has filled in for Monanagi, practiced well, and seems to be doing well.
Ahmed has fought through injuries throughout the last few years after a promising start to his career with the Miami Dolphins. He is also competing with Roschon Johnson, Brittain Brown, and Coleman Bennett for the third-string job.
Training camp has only just started, but there are now some questions about the offense that fans weren't anticipating. Monangai not being on the field after being there on Day 1 should have everyone monitoring the situation there. It's also worth noting that Ahmed getting extra reps is very telling.

Bears fans have to wonder if the third-string job might be getting decided based on what happens in Monangai's absence. The hope is he is okay, and at the same time, a resolution is coming for the other running backs on who is going to make the roster behind Monangai and Swift.
