Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson can be a hard man to impress, as he wants the best from his players, but he has shown how he truly feels about them, whatever accolades come their way off the field.

The big story this week from the Bears organization is that quarterback Caleb Williams is the cover athlete for the new Madden 27 video game coming out in August. Johnson was asked about his quarterback being on it, and the head coach was... less enthusiastic than others in the Windy City.

"No reaction," Johnson said via The Athletic's Dan Wiederer.

Ben Johnson isn't bothered by Caleb Williams being on the cover

This is what Bears fans love about Johnson. He's all business and couldn't really care what his players are doing off the field, as long as they stay out of trouble.

Instead, he is focused on getting his third-year signal-caller to take a giant leap from being a great quarterback to an elite one. Williams finished last season with a franchise record 3,942 yards and scored 31 total touchdowns with just seven interceptions, as well as led an NFL record seven comeback and game-winning drives.

It's Year 2 in Johnson's offense, so Williams has some more that he needs to put on his plate to get him to the elite level Bears fans are expecting him to be. He can make all the throws right now that have made him special, but the accuracy is where he needs to improve. Johnson chalked it up to learning the offense, so 2026 should be when it all comes together perfectly.

Bears fans can't wait to see Williams and Johnson back together again in the regular season, as the duo is shaping up to be the best HC-QB combo in the NFL. The 2026 season is going to be tough, but they are showing that, despite both being young at their positions, they are well ahead of schedule in being great at their jobs.
