A leak about the EA Sports video game Madden 27 had everyone in the Chicago Bears fan base losing their minds, but now the confirmation is in.

Last week, it was leaked that Bears quarterback Caleb Williams would be on the cover of Madden 27. That is now the case, as Madden posted the cover on their X account, showing Williams making the cross-body throw that hit Rome Odunze on fourth-and-long in the NFC Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers.

Shortly after that post, another post from Madden showed Williams on the cover with the Deluxe Edition of the game, with him doing the Iceman celebration that came after the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime against the Packers in Week 16. This was the cover fans saw get leaked before the confirmation.

Caleb Williams is officially on the cover of Madden 27

Williams becomes the first Bears to be on the main cover of Madden. Former Bears offensive lineman Roberto Garza was on the cover of Madden 09 with their Spanish version.

Last season was a magical year for Williams after throwing for a franchise record 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He also led an NFL record seven comebacks and game-winning drives in the regular season and playoffs. The Bears finished with an 11-6 record, won the NFC North, and took down the Packers in the playoffs.

This is just further indication that Williams is truly becoming a superstar in the NFL and arguably one of the most exciting players in the league. While there are parts of his game that have to improve, his ability to make any throw anywhere on the field makes him a unique talent.

The Bears count their blessings that they drafted him number one overall in 2024, as things are looking up going into Year 3 of the Caleb Williams era.
