The 2025 season was a magical one for the Chicago Bears. In the first year under Ben Johnson, the Bears saw plenty of success, which ended in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Nonetheless, the future is bright in the Windy City, and a lot of that is due to quarterback Caleb Williams.
Williams is the face of Chicago's franchise, and he was featured as the cover athlete for Madden 27. In the process of finding the right pose for the cover, Williams took a jab at the Green Bay Packers. The picture they chose was a reenactment of a jaw-dropping throw Williams made in the postseason against their rival.
In the fourth quarter of the Wild Card win over Green Bay, Williams made a jumping throw to Rome Odunze on fourth and eight for a 27-yard completion. That throw was uncanny and extremely difficult, and it made the cover of the famous video game. And it'll be a constant reminder to all Packer fans who will play Madden when it's released.

The Bears-Packers rivalry runs deep. Johnson and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur don't like each other, and that was apparent in 2025. That fire will carry over into 2026, especially since Chicago ended Green Bay's season.
What Williams did last season was fantastic and showed the high ceiling that this offense has with him running the show. In the Wild Card win over the Packers, the USC product finished with 361 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, in four games against Green Bay in the regular season, Williams has completed 63 percent of his passes for 815 passing yards, five passing scores, and one interception. He's 3-2 across five games against this foe, showcasing that he rises to the occasion whenever lining up against them.
Nonetheless, anytime the Bears can troll the Packers, they will take advantage of that. And Williams is at the top of the list. After the playoff victory, Williams wore a cheese grater hat and grated some cheddar cheese during his postgame interview. That moment was certainly praised by Bears fans and hated by Packers fans.

But until these teams suit up again, Chicago has the upper hand and bragging rights. And Williams, being on the Madden 27 cover and recreating an infamous throw he made against Green Bay, is fitting as we head into the 2026 campaign.
