He's got some motivation.

Chicago Bears are all believers in starting quarterback Caleb Williams, as he is the leader the franchise has been waiting for at the position, but he is apparently still in the shadows of his fellow 2024 NFL Draft mates.

NFL Spin Zone's Lou Scataglia shared his rankings of the seven quarterbacks from the 2024 NFL Draft class. Williams found himself only at number three behind Denver Broncos' Bo Nix at two and New England Patriots' Drake Maye at one.

"Caleb Williams has the goods, but the dip in completion percentage is slightly concerning. We'll see if year two with Ben Johnson could fix things there, but it's clear that Williams has this off-schedule, clutch ability that only a few others in the league have, and that's going to be a quality that allows the Chicago Bears to win a ton of games."

Is everyone sleeping on how good Caleb Williams is compared to the 2024 draft class?

If fans are looking at a purely athletic, physical aspect, Williams is light-years better than the rest of the class. The type of throws that Williams makes on a weekly basis is something the other quarterbacks like Maye and Nix wish they could.

What is fair about the ranking is that Nix and Maye have both made it farther in the playoffs than Williams has. It should also be noted that if Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (fourth in the rankings) is included, all four quarterbacks have been to the conference championship game, with Maye being the only one to start in a Super Bowl.

This is honestly a good thing for Williams, as if he needed more motivation for the 2026 season, he now has it with the ranking. He proved last year how good he is after breaking a franchise record for passing yards, leading the Bears to the playoffs, and leading an NFL record seven comeback and game-winning drives.

Williams has all the confidence in the world right now, and Bears fans don't have a doubt in their minds that he is only going to get better and pass Nix and Maye in the rankings soon enough.
