He certainly is. He certainly is.

The Chicago Bears have a plethora of young weapons on offense who will make them dangerous over the next 5 to 10 years.

One that has been getting the most attention early on is wide receiver Luther Burden III, who has moved up into a WR2 role for 2026 and might be the most dangerous player on the Bears' offense. Tight end Colston Loveland backed that claim up with one word he repeated multiple times about his teammate.

“He's the truth, man," Loveland said via CHGO's Adam Jahns. "He's the truth – nothing but the truth. The way he works, his attitude, his mindset, he's a guy you want on your team, for sure.”

Luther Burden truly is....well, the truth in Bears' offense

Last season was a slow start for Burden, as he had multiple games with fewer than 10 yards and even more with negative yardage. The second half of the year was a different story as he did a great job replacing Rome Odunze while he was injured and ended up being one of the top weapons in the passing game. Burden finished with 47 receptions for 652 yards and two touchdowns.

With DJ Moore out the door and with the Buffalo Bills, Odunze and Burden are now the top two receivers in the offense. It's been Burden, though, who has caught fire at OTAs to the point where even head coach Ben Johnson had to admit that he is bought into the hype behind Burden.

Everyone is expecting Burden to have a big sophomore year in the Bears' offense after showing glimpses of what he can do in 2025. It's all about the speed and deep threat ability that Burden has that makes him different from the other pass catchers like Odunze and Loveland in this offense.

Burden is going to be a difference-maker in this Bears offense going into the 2026 season, as he will become more than just the guy that Johnson wants to throw screen passes to. No, Burden is about to become a nightmare for defensive backs for a long time.
