Who knew that a trade that Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles made three years ago would continue to be added on as greatness to this day?

During the 2023 offseason, the Bears traded the number one overall pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for first-round picks in 2023 and 2024, a 2023 second-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, and wide receiver DJ Moore. After many selections and trades involving those picks, look at all the players the Bears ended up getting after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Bears receive:
DJ Moore (Now on Buffalo Bills)
Caleb Williams
Darnell Wright
Luther Burden
Tyrique Stevenson
Tory Taylor
Sam Roush
Malik Muhammad

Bears continue to look great after 2023 Panthers trade

Moore has since been traded to the Buffalo Bills for a 2026 second-round pick, but that was a good deal, as he helped the team over the last three years. While his stats declined, he was a key contributor and a great leader.

Obviously, the offensive talent from that trade can't be understated as Williams is becoming a star in the making, Wright was just a second-team All-Pro last season, and Burden emerged as a WR2 by the end of the season.

Taylor is an underrated aspect of the trade, since he is just a punter, but the impact he has made over the years can't be overstated. The Bears have done well on special teams and won the field-position battle because of his work.

A fascinating part of this trade is how Moore and a draft pick helped the Bears land Roush in the second round and Muhammad in the fourth round. Everyone thought the trade ended in 2025, but it continues to age well and help the Bears build for the future.

Poles has made some good move, but this trade continues to live to this day and should be praised for getting the deal done.
