In case you didn't know, our own Taylor Doll, host of the Making Monsters podcast, is one-third of the first all-female sports talk show in the nation on Jacksonville's 1010 XL, the flagship for the Jacksonville Jaguars. So she didn't have to look very far to get someone to come on her latest podcast to help preview the upcoming Chicago Bears game. She spoke with one of her Helmets & Heels co-hosts, Lauren Brooks, to give us the skinny on the Jags.

Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson had been on the hot seat as his team started 0-4, but a win last week cooled that a bit. However, his team has had issues on both sides of the ball.

Previewing the Chicago Bears' Week 6 opponent.

“Each week, you can say something different," Lauren told Taylor about the Jaguars' offensive struggles. "The first couple weeks, the offensive line played like trash, and I think Trevor Lawrence was a little bit hurried in the pocket because going back to last season, if people don’t remember, he was hurt and not just one injury but five different injuries, so knee, ankle, concussion and all of these things. So yeah, I think he was feeling rushed back there, but the last two weeks, the line has been fantastic, and Trevor has had time to throw.”

“The Jaguars obviously only have one win, and in that win, everything worked well, but in other losses, the four losses, you could literally point to multiple different things."

Lauren said the only thing working on their offense is the running game, and she believes Tank Bigsby is their best back. But Jacksonville's issues are on the defensive side of the ball as well.

"One of the more fascinating things with the Jaguars so far is the fact that the defense we expected them to be, based off the preseason and based off training camp, is not the defense we’ve seen. I thought in week one, 'Oh wow, Nielsen [new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen] is the guy. I’m so glad that the Jags hired him as the DC and got rid of Mike Caldwell.' Because the Jags limited the Dolphins early on in that game other than a big play to Tyreek Hill. But then since then, teams have been - including the Browns - able to kind of go up and down the field on us.”

Lauren thinks the Jags are still searching for their identity as a team and looking for synergy in all phases.

It's a fascinating preview with two peoplw who obviously have a lot of chemistry, so check out Taylor's Bears vs Jags preview podcast here:
