Entering the 2026 offseason, the Chicago Bears have heard everyone say they should trade away starting wide receiver DJ Moore.
There might be a good reason for it, as the Bears could get good value from Moore and move on. Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton named Moore being traded for a Day 2 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft as a dream offseason trade scenario for the Bears.
"The Chicago Bears have a crowded pass-catching group, and DJ Moore's receiving numbers have been on the decline since 2023. Don't expect Moore's production to trend back in the right direction as wideout Luther Burden III and tight end Colston Loveland gain experience in head coach Ben Johnson's offense. After seeing 140 targets in 2024, he saw 85 targets last season. General manager Ryan Poles can look to deal Moore before he turns 30 next year, while the seven-year veteran is still making the most of his dwindling opportunities in the offense."
DJ Moore is part of dream trade scenario for Bears
Moore's production has certainly gone down over the last three seasons he's been on the Bears' roster. In his first season, he led Chicago with 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns, but dipped to 682 yards and six touchdowns in 2025.
A major contributing factor was that former Bears quarterback Justin Fields viewed Moore as the primary receiver and always went to him. Current Bears signal-caller Caleb Williams has taken a different approach by spreading the ball around to everyone.
Last year, four Bears players went for over 600 yards receiving with Moore, Loveland, Burden, and Rome Odunze. There were three that tied the team lead with six touchdowns between Loveland, Odunze, and Moore.

While the last two seasons have not gone the way Moore wanted them to, he still wants to play on the team in 2026, but the Bears have bigger needs and could use a draft pick in a Moore trade, so don't be surprised if they at least entertain the idea of making a move.
