The 2025 NFL Draft is here with Chicago Bears fans already being baited into a draft-day trade rumor that barely has any legs.
Given the recent speculation that the Bears may be looking to move up in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, there has been a rumor making the rounds that the team already has the framework of a trade in place. The trade, as rumored, would be contingent on the player the Bears are targeting still being on the board.
Sounds like the Chicago Bears have a trade agreement in place in the #NFLDraft tonight. Source says a tentative deal was hammered out yesterday afternoon. Buckle up. As GM Ryan Poles said Tuesday, “This one is going to be a little wild.”

So, the Bears have a trade agreement in place but the other team is not revealed, nor is the player the Bears are targeting. In part, it is rumors like this that make the first day of the NFL Draft so entertaining. Anyone who knows how to post something on social media and becomes an insider one day out of the year.
On days like this, it is best to set alerts for known NFL insiders such as Adam Schefter, Ian Rapoport, Brad Biggs, etc. That way, the common Bears fans can spare themselves from some of the more comedic posts that make the rounds during the draft.
As things currently stand, it seems that the Bears are, at the very least, exploring the idea of moving up in the draft. Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune provided an update on their efforts during his radio hit with 670 The Score on Thursday morning.
Hey Weezy … Could the Bears be movin’ on up tonight?

There had been speculation that the New York Giants may be looking to move the No. 3 pick in the draft. The Bears likely explored that possibility as it would give them a direct line toward drafting Abdul Carter. Instead, the overwhelming expectation now is that the Giants will keep the pick and take Carter for themselves.
So, now, when talking about the idea of the Bears moving up in the draft, it would likely be for Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. The Bears have been heavily connected to Jeanty in recent days and would likely need to move to No. 5 in order to avoid the Las Vegas Raiders taking him at No. 6.
