The Chicago Bears officially don't start their first practice until July 28, but things are already starting to roll for training camp.
Saturday, July 25 marks the first day that the Bears begin to have players arrive at Halas Hall. First, the rookies and quarterbacks will report for duty. Veterans are not reporting until Tuesday.
These early stages before training camp are mostly paperwork, getting physicals, handing out playbooks, and other off-the-field stuff. Chicago Bears players are still a few days away from putting on the pads and hitting each other. Their first practice will be at 8:30 am CST on Wednesday.
Chicago Bears players are starting to get ready for training camp
This is always an exciting time for Bears fans, as it is the first sign that the 2026 season is starting. It also gives the fan base some news to help quench their thirst for Bears content.
Chicago's offseason was pretty quiet, with very little happening. The big moves were the DJ Moore trade, releasing Tremaine Edmunds, signing Coby Bryant and Devin Bush in free agency, and drafting Dillon Thieneman in the first round. Other than that, it wasn't too terribly exciting for the Bears fan base.
Many of the storylines entering training camp involve quarterback Caleb Williams and whether he can sustain his success from last year. Williams was just named the 51st-best player in the NFL, so the pressure is really starting to heat up for him to be even better than his Superman-like moments last season.
There are plenty of position battles to monitor, including at cornerback, defensive line, backup offensive line, left tackle, WR3, long snapper, and RB3. The depth of the roster is giving the Bears everything they need to have one of the most competitive camps in a long time.
