Despite all the negative publicity surrounding the Chicago Bears following a week of multiple injuries, there are still great things happening in training camp.
Bears tight end Colston Loveland has been putting on a show at training camp almost daily. Loveland continues to make play after play, proving himself to be a star in the making. ESPN Bears reporter Courtney Cronin shared what Loveland did in the team's latest practice.
"Colston Loveland caught two touchdown passes from Williams while covered during 7-on-7. His second TD grab came in the corner of the end zone with a defender draped over him as he dove to catch the ball."

Last season, Loveland was the Bears' leading receiver with 713 yards and six touchdowns after a slow start. Pro Football Focus gave Loveland an 81.1 overall grade, ranking fifth among tight ends in 2025.
There's no getting around it: Loveland is a star in the making. He's showing every ability that is needed to be a premier tight end in the NFL these days.
Loveland obviously is a great pass catcher who runs clean routes and can use his size to box out defenders. His blocking skills don't get talked about enough, but he can be a presence in pass and run blocking.
Entering 2026, Loveland is the starter at tight end, but he's got plenty of support behind him. With veteran Cole Kmet and rookie Sam Roush there, Bears head coach Ben Johnson has all the tools he needs to run 13-personnel on the field, which is three tight end sets.
In the passing game, Loveland is going to be one of the top targets, and that was proven last season. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams targeted Loveland at least 10 times in each of the last four regular season and playoff games.
The Bears are going to need Loveland to get off to a faster start in 2026 with DJ Moore gone. Wide receivers Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze should see their production go up, but Loveland was still the guy most trusted in the passing game last year.

Loveland has all the abilities to be great, and training camp is only further proving that. It's a matter of him being consistent with his performance and keeping the momentum going in 2026.
