After all the headaches and concerns over the injuries suffered in the Chicago Bears' defense, they are finally getting some good news for once.

One of the Bears' top defensive starters, T.J. Edwards, started training camp on the Active/Non-Football Injury list. NFL insider Ian Rapoport had described Edwards' injury as a "minor muscle strain" and wasn't expected to be gone for long.

Well, the wait is finally over. The Bears announced that Edwards has been activated from the Active/Non-Football Injury list and is expected to practice with the team.

T.J. Edwards is back on the practice field with the Bears

Bears fans have been feeling it with Edwards, Coby Bryant, and Kyler Gordon all being out of the starting lineup with injuries to start camp. It's a relief that one of them is at least back.

Edwards is such a key piece to this defense and will give them the help they need at linebacker. Devin Bush has been off to a strong start for the Bears, but adding in Edwards will finally show the fan base the true potential this unit has coming up.

Bryant is expected to be out eight to 10 weeks with his knee injury. Gordon's status is still unknown, as he deals with the soft-tissue injury that keeps bugging him.

The Bears could use more help in the secondary, but the pressure will be on the defense'sfront seven. That's why Edwards needs to be back on the field and making sure he is getting the reps he needs.

This might be the moment that things start to turn upwards for the Bears' defense. They have been off to a decent start this week with the pads on. The unit has taken advantage of the offense's bumpy start.

Bears fans will have to wait and see how Edwards does in his first practice of training camp, as the team will be in just shorts and shells for Day 7. This is the perfect opportunity for Edwards to ease back in and get his confidence back.
