The Chicago Bears delivered some tough news days before training camp, already having fans worried about their defense.
They shared that they have placed linebacker T.J. Edwards on the Active/Non-Football Injury list. This means he will miss the beginning of training camp.
Many thought Edwards was all good after he had fractured his fibula in the playoff win over the Green Bay Packers, but a new injury has occurred. NFL insider Ian Rapoport gave an update on Edwards that should at least make things better for Bears fans.
"TJ Edwards' stay on NFI should be short, as he's dealing with a minor muscle strain."

The Bears cannot afford to lose Edwards for long since they are already dealing with multiple injuries at the position. They shared that linebackers Noah Sewell and rookie Keyshaun Elliott are also missing the start of training camp, as they were placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list with three other players.
Edwards is a key starter on this defense and will be needed for the upcoming season. He's expected to start alongside Devin Bush and D'Marco Jackson for defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's crew.
With the good news about Edwards, Bears fans can turn all their worries and concerns over to cornerback Kyler Gordon. As part of the news, Gordon was also placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list, as he recovers from his soft-tissue injury.
The problem is that there is no word on when Gordon will be able to recover and get back on the field. It does not look good at the moment, and there is no end in sight.

Even though training camp hasn't started, there's no need to panic just yet. If the injuries are still there by the end of August, we need to have a conversation.
