With Drew Dalman now enjoying retirement, the Chicago Bears are left with way more questions than they expected to answer in the offseason.
The first move now is for the Bears to find a replacement for Dalman, which most likely happens in free agency. Names like Tyler Linderbaum and Tyler Biadasz have been brought up, with Biadasz already coming in for a visit, while Chicago is sniffing around the Linderbaum situation.
Depending on who they sign in free agency, the Bears should consider options in the NFL Draft to at least have a backup plan in case their signing choice does not work out. One name at the center has caught everyone's attention and would make sense for Chicago to select in April.
Bears have one option in NFL Draft to look at to replace Drew Dalman
Iowa center Logan Jones stood out as the star of the NFL Combine for his blazing speed and outrunning the competition. Jones ran the fastest 40-yard dash of any offensive lineman at the combine with a 4.9 time.
Last season was a great one for Jones as he stood out as one of the best linemen in the nation with the Hawkeyes. He won the Rimington Trophy as the nation's best center, won the Joe Moore Award for the nation's best offensive line, was selected as a unanimous All-American, and was selected as a first-team All-Big Ten selection. That doesn't include the first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2024 and the third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2023.
In 2025, Jones was also graded out by Pro Football Focus as the ninth-best center in the nation out of 307 with a grade of 79. With the 311 pass blocking snaps he had last season, he allowed just three pressures and one sack, and never committed a penalty in 704 total snaps
The best part about Jones is that he is projected to be a Day 3 selection in the draft. Chicago could easily use a fourth-round pick on him and have him develop as a backup to whoever they bring in.

Dalman's retirement is a reminder to every team that they can never have enough depth at any given position. Jones would be an incredible addition to the team without the Bears having to use early-round picks on him.
