After the failed experiment with Keenan Allen this past season, Chicago Bears fans have wasted no time in circling veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp as a player the Bears should target this offseason.

Kupp revealed earlier this week that the Los Angeles Rams intend to trade him before the start of the new league year in March. With Kupp expected to make over $25MM in each of the next seasons, and at the age of 31, it would seem that a pair of late-round picks would be enough to get a deal done.

That is not to say Kupp wouldn't be a valuable addition. The biggest question with Kupp is a similar question the Bears faced last season with the trade for Allen, availability. Kupp hasn't played a full-season since 2021 and hasn't played more than 12 games in each season since then.

While DJ Moore and Rome Odunze may want Kupp to be the newest arrival for the Bears' offense, it doesn't seem like a trade is likely. Brad Biggs all but shut down the idea of the Bears trading for Kupp during his latest radio hit on 670 The Score.

A Cooper Kupp trade isn't a reality for the Chicago Bears

In a world where the Bears don't need, at the very least, two starting offensive linemen and another edge-rusher, there is an argument that would be made about the team trading a pair of their late-round picks for Kupp. However, given those needs and the fact the Bears already have Moore and Odunze on their roster, they won't be near the top of the list of suitors for Kupp this offseason.

Biggs did throw out the idea that the Bears might have interest in Tim Patrick. Patrick played under Ben Johnson with the Detroit Lions last season, totaling 394 yards and 3 touchdowns on 33 receptions. Assuming the Bears also add a wide receiver through the draft in the later rounds, the addition of Patrick would make a ton of sense.
