No matter where players or coaches go among the different teams in their careers, the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers rivalry lives on in different area codes.

Last season saw the Bears-Packers rivalry reach new heights, with several moments showing that both teams don't like each other. It all started with Bears head coach Ben Johnson's comments about "enjoying beating Matt LaFleur twice a year," which then led to an interesting handshake between Johnson and LaFleur in one game, and then to Johnson screaming "f*** the Packers" in the locker room.

Well, one guy who got to see this rivalry up close was former Packers defensive coordinator and current Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley. While appearing on Up & Adams, Hafley was talking about facing the Packers in 2026, and an interesting backhanded comment he made stood out to Bears fans.

“I’ll shake his hand after the game, it’s not gonna be one of those.”

Jeff Hafley wants all the smoke from Ben Johnson and the Bears

It's certainly a choice of words to pick from Hafley, who is not a fan of Johnson and the Bears. Remember when he said he would see the media "next week" before watching his defense blow an 18-point lead in the NFC Wild Card Game and lose to the Bears?

That won't be the last time Hafley coaches against Chicago, as he gets to do it all over again in 2026. The Bears will be playing as the road team in Miami when they face the Dolphins next season.

Johnson had Hafley's number last season as the Bears beat the Packers twice in their three meetings. Chicago's offense averaged 24.6 points per game against Hafley's defense.

Among the AFC teams the Bears are playing, the Dolphins might end up being more intriguing than Chicago fans expected, with another shot at taking it to Hafley just like old times.
