In what has been a whirlwind of news and reports in regards to one Maxx Crosby, the Chicago Bears' hope to go out and trade for the star pass rusher have been reignited thanks to the Baltimore Ravens backing out of their deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
For now, Crosby is still a Raider, as Las Vegas weighs their options and chat with other possible trade suitors. If the Bears wanted to, they could be right back in the thick of conversations.
One rumored team who could also be in the mix is the Buffalo Bills, who just cleared some cap space thanks to a Josh Allen contract restructure.
However, thanks to a recent report live on NFL Network, per insider Cameron Wolfe, the Bills' cap situation may still be far too messy for them to go in on a Crosby trade this time around. Apparently, Wolfe doesn't believe Buffalo will get back into the conversation.
The Chicago Bears may not have a ton of competition if they wanted to pull off a Maxx Crosby trade
We have seen multiple reports about teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles potentially being in the Crosby picture, whether it be the first time or this second saga. The Bills were in that category, too, but they may not be in the picture at this stage.
There have also been some rumblings that the Cowboys are going to move forward with Rashan Gary, who was traded from the Green Bay Packers. If that's the case, you can take Dallas out of the mix, too.
That might just leave a handful of teams, including the Bears, who would take the gamble on a massive deal.
The Commanders make sense. The Lions would be a wild turn of events, as he'd be paired with Aidan Hutchinson. The Eagles, meanwhile, are as unpredictable as anyone. Howie Roseman has plenty of tricks up his sleeve on a regular basis.
Remember, Crosby has sung Caleb Williams' praises for a while now. He has tremendous love and respect for the Bears' franchise quarterback. That could always play into Crosby's trade scenario as well, so long as Ryan Poles were to offer enough.
Right now, Crosby is very likely as motivated as ever to go out and perform in 2026 after everything that's happened. He'll be recovered from meniscus surgery this summer, according to several reports, and that'll give him plenty of time to ramp up before the season.
