The Chicago Bears might be riding high from the incredible season that was last year, but there are still some big questions this franchise has to get answered at training camp.
Surprisingly to the fan base, both sides of the ball have their own questions to get answered. The defense might have a bit more to respond to, but even the offense has its fair share of questions that hopefully training camp will get settled for them.
Of all the questions fans might have, four rank at the top, with two regarding the offense and two others about the defense. Here are the most important questions that need to be answered by the end of August.
4 questions Bears must respond to during training camp
Can Luther Burden III live up to the hype created at OTAs?
Bears head coach Ben Johnson seems to be bought in, so that was enough for the fan base to go crazy over the second-year receiver's hype. Burden had 652 yards and two touchdowns last year, but OTAs really showed that he made significant progress during the offseason. The hope is that he can continue to build on that momentum as the Bears need him to step up with DJ Moore gone.
Will Tyrique Stevenson step up as CB2 or lose his job?
Five starters from the secondary are gone for the Bears, leaving Stevenson to take back his CB2 job that Nahshon Wright had taken away from him last season. Stevenson isn't a lock to win the job, though, as rookie fourth-round pick Malik Muhammad was selected to push him. The potential is there with Stevenson, but Bears fans are starting to lose belief in him, so training camp can hopefully make the fan base feel better.
Can Austin Booker make giant leap in Year 3?
After coming back from injury midway through the 2025 season, Booker racked up 4.5 sacks in 10 games, showing that he still has a chance to be a starter in the NFL. He did a good job replacing Dayo Odeyingbo when Odeyingbo got hurt, and now the two will be competing for a starting job opposite Montez Sweat. If Booker can make the leap fans expect in 2026, it could shut down all those concerns about the lack of a pass rush from last year.

Is 2026 the season that Caleb Williams becomes an elite quarterback?
The potential is there with Williams, and that was in full display last year with incredible throws and comebacks to make the future look brighter in Chicago. Everyone wonders, though, if 2026 will bring out the best in Williams and really propel his career. Another great year with some improvement to his accuracy, and the Bears might have a top-five quarterback on their roster for a long time.
