With the 2026 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, the Chicago Bears are now focused on making last-second touches to the roster before OTAs, minicamp, and training camp get underway in the next few months.

There are still plenty of positions the Bears need to address as they failed to select an edge rusher and offensive tackle in the draft. New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy gave his list of the 10 best free agents available, as he had offensive tackle Taylor Decker and defensive end Cameron Jordan on there, with the Bears being named as best fits.

"The best fit might be a reunion with Bears head coach Ben Johnson, his (Taylor Decker) former offensive coordinator dealing with an injury to left tackle Ozzy Trapilo."

"The Bears ranked No. 31 in pass rush win rate last season and didn’t use a draft pick on an edge. Maybe defensive coordinator Dennis Allen (former Saints head coach) lures (Cameron) Jordan."

Bears have two free agents that would be great fits for them

Jordan and Decker have both been connected to the Bears throughout the offseason. Their connections to Johnson and Allen make them ideal candidates to join the team in 2026.

One small problem is the current salary cap situation the Bears are in. They might have $10.7 million right now, but keep in mind they need that money to pay for all the rookies they have coming in through the draft, so they don't have any cash to spend on free agents unless they move some players around or restructure their contracts.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles has proven to be very stubborn when it comes to his edge rushers, so there is little hope he will actually do anything about the position despite the fact that they were one of the worst pass-rushing units in the NFL last year. Getting Decker, though, might be more likely, but Decker will have to take a pay cut and will have to be okay with riding the bench late in the season if Trapilo returns.

Would Bears fans love to have Decker and Jordan on the team? Of course, they would, as they would instantly upgrade the roster to the point of making them legitimate Super Bowl contenders, but it's not very likely that the Bears are going to be able to get it done at the moment.
