Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson has a particular type of player he is looking for on his team that many other NFL teams might have missed in their early evaluations, but not him.
Johnson is looking for guys who are hungry and will put in the work no matter what. Well, when he spoke to the media at rookie minicamp, he shouted out 2025 draft picks Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III for coming in before the offseason workout, lifting weights in the weight room.
"Our group for one week in terms of the field work, I’m really pleased with what it looks like," Johnson said via The Score's Chris Emma. "These guys are dialed in, they’re very focused. And the whole coaching staff is going back to the basics and those guys are really embracing that mindset."

Loveland and Burden have been putting in the work all offseason as they have shown it off on social media. The pair has also worked out with Rome Odunze, Jahdae Walker, and Caleb Williams as well.
Last year, Loveland got off to a slow start, but ended up being the leading receiver on the Bears with over 700 yards and six touchdowns. It also took Burden time, as he was not playing as much, but after Odunze's injury, Burden exploded onto the scene and became the fourth-leading receiver on the team, racking up over 600 yards and two scores.
DJ Moore is no longer on the team, so Loveland and Burden face more pressure going into the 2026 season to step up. Loveland is already seen as the top receiver and will be able to build on last year's momentum. Burden is going to be called on to do more than screen passes and become the serious threat they had hoped he would be.

The future is scary good with Loveland and Burden in Chicago, as they have a chance to take a massive leap and really have this passing game reach new heights.
