Once again, Chicago Bears fans will not see their top offensive weapon on the field, but another starter on that side of the ball will not be playing in Week 18 against the Detroit Lions.

Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze has been listed as inactive against the Lions with the foot injury he has been recovering from for over a month. Also out for the Bears is starting left tackle Ozzy Trapilo, who is dealing with a knee and quad injury.

Here are the rest of the inactives for the Chicago Bears in Week 18:

  • Case Keenum, Third QB
  • Nick McCloud, CB
  • Ozzy Trapilo, OL
  • Rome Odunze, WR
  • Ruben Hyppolite II, LB
  • Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, DE

Bears won't have two starters on the field against the Lions

Trapilo is the big surprise as he came into the game questionable with his knee and quad injury. Most likely to replace him is the guy who replaced him, Theo Benedet, who made a few starts at left tackle, taking over for Braxton Jones after the bye week, before losing the job to Trapilo.

Odunze is not as much of a surprise as it was more surprising that he was questionable going into the game. He practiced only once this week because he was limited during their final workout.

The Bears will have Luther Burden and Olamide Zaccheaus in the lineup as Burden had an ankle injury in the 42-38 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17. Zaccheaus was inactive for that game due to illness.

Other key injuries include depth at cornerback, taking a hit in the slot, as McCloud is out with an illness. He was questionable going into the game. The defense has two backup defenders also out with Hyppolite and Tryon-Shoyinka.

Chicago will have some guys out for the team, but they have plenty of talent to get their win over the Lions and lock up the number two seed in the NFC.
