The Chicago Bears have plenty of talent with the roster that could help them out with depth, but could be difference makers on other teams.
Bears general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Ben Johnson have done a masterful job at contructing the roster to look the way it does. It's got a lot of young talent that will be on the team for a long time, but could attract other NFL teams to call about a trade.
There is one player who made a small impact last season that might have lasting effects on his career. He may not start with the Bears, but he could be a valuable trade asset down the road.
Jordan McFadden is a name to watch at training camp for the other 31 teams
McFadden was a fifth-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers back in 2023, starting just one game in two seasons with the team.
The Bears brought him in last year to be a depth player on the roster. In 2025, he played just 27 total snaps in seven games with the Bears, with all but two snaps being on special teams.
McFadden would be called upon in the NFC Divisional Round playoff against the Los Angeles Rams to start at left guard, and All-Pro Joe Thuney would move to left tackle to replace the injured Ozzy Trapilo. Despite the loss, McFadden received a lot of praise for his performance in replacing Thuney at the last second and playing well.
Entering 2026, McFadden is seen as a clear-cut backup and should be a lock to make the 53-man roster. This might be an interesting training camp for him, as if he plays well, not only will he make the team, but it could spark some interest from other NFL teams.
Injuries happen all the time, and reliable offensive linemen are hard to find. McFadden could jump in for another team and help with either depth or to start.
This could also be a great opportunity for the Bears to collect some much-needed draft picks from him. Sure, they would only get a Day 3 pick, but remember, the 2025 seventh-round pick running back Kyle Monangai became a key player on this team, so those picks are important for Poles.

Watch for McFadden to have a solid training camp again and might even have some teams taking a look at how he does as well.
