After selecting LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears appear not to be done at the position just yet.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Bears are scheduled to host a tryout for veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller. After being selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Miller has played for three teams, including the last two with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as previously playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons.

In his seven-year NFL career, Miller has caught 99 passes for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown as well. He had nine catches for 62 yards in 13 games with the Steelers last season.

Could Scotty Miller put the wide receiver room on notice if he's signed?

Everyone knows that Rome Odunze and Luther Burden are the top two receivers on the roster. The real question is what happens with WR3 and who will take that spot, as that battle is between Kalif Raymond, Jahdae Walker, and Thomas.

Miller is a speedy receiver who can run a 4.3-second 40 time and challenge any of the Bears' receivers in a race. His experience helps, as he has proven to be a reliable slot receiver in the NFL.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles has already made it clear that Thomas will mostly be a special teams player in his rookie season, giving him time to learn head coach Ben Johnson's offense and focus on returning kicks. That leaves Raymond and Walker to fight for the WR3 job, but Miller would be a direct competitor for the position.

If Miller signs with the Bears and makes the 53-man roster, someone would get the boot. That certainly would create an interesting storyline in training camp.
