Week 3 of training camp for the Chicago Bears is underway, and questions still loom about multiple position battles within the roster.
The Bears might have one of those position jobs figured out, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Their growing injury concerns at camp are not helping matters, making it hard to predict who will make the team.
With the Bears' preseason officially starting this week, that should give everyone a good indication of who is on the leaderboard and who is in trouble. Here's a look at the current projection for the Bears' 53-man roster.
Chicago Bears' updated 53-man roster projection after two weeks
QB - Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum
This should continue to be the way the quarterback room looks for the next three weeks. Everyone is secure in their spots unless Miller Moss becomes an all-world quarterback, which doesn't appear to be the case right now.
RB - D'Andre Swift, Kyle Monangai, Salvon Ahmed
Roschon Johnson needs to have an incredible preseason to get everyone to buy into his stock again. Until then, Bears fans should look at Ahmed to steal a 53-man roster spot from Johnson due to what he did while Monangai was gone at practice.
WR - Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, Kalif Raymond, Jahdae Walker, Zavion Thomas
For now, this is how the wide receiver room should look unless Burden isn't ready by Week 1. If there is another receiver to keep on the roster, it really should be Kaden Davis, who has exploded with multiple big plays in training camp.
TE - Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet, Sam Roush
The tight end position should go relatively untouched unless they want to have four on the roster. Chicago will most likely keep one or two on the practice squad for insurance, but otherwise, they are solid with the top three.
OL - Braxton Jones, Joe Thuney, Garrett Bradbury, Jonah Jackson, Darnell Wright, Logan Jones, Theo Benedet, Kiran Amegadjie, Jordan McFadden, Luke Newmann
Ozzy Trapilo will be on IR to start the season, but everyone else should be able to make the roster. Amegadjie or Jedrick Wills Jr. could be gone at left tackle, depending on Jones' injury situation. Newmann might be on the edge of not making the roster, but could still do it as one of the backup guards.
DL - Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, Dayo Odeyingbo, Gervon Dexter, Grady Jarrett, Jordan van den Berg, Neville Gallimore, Shemar Turner, Daniel Hardy, Kentavius Street
Turner's injury situation is getting better, so he might be ready to go by the regular season. Van den Berg has complicated things since he might actually have a shot at starting now with how well he is playing in training camp. The defensive tackle position is ever evolving in training camp.
LB - Devin Bush, T.J. Edwards, D'Marco Jackson, Keyshaun Elliott, Jack Sanborn
Noah Sewell might start the season on IR, leaving a door open for the final spot at linebacker. Fields' time in the UFL might benefit him and help him land on the roster, but right now, with the secondary injuries, he sits on the outside.
CB - Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson, Malik Muhammad II, Jaylon Jones, Josh Blackwell
The cornerback position is so wide open with all the injuries, so who knows who will actually make the roster. It all depends on whether Gordon can get everyone healthy and practicing before the season starts. Muhammad looks poised to have the nickel spot if he's not ready to go for Week 1.
S - Dillon Thieneman, Coby Bryant, Cam Lewis, Xavier Woods, Elijah Hicks
It's hard to keep track of the safeties since one or two get hurt every day, but these are the five that would make it. Woods probably ends up starting Week 1 for the Bears in place of Bryant.

Special Teams - K Cairo Santos, P Tory Taylor, LS Beau Gardner
Luke Elkin was cut, so Gardner has the long snapper job for the time being. Otherwise, Santos and Taylor are a lock to make the team.
