Most people can't understand how special the 2025 season was for Chicago Bears fans, who finally saw a quarterback like Caleb Williams step up in the biggest way, giving them hope that they had found their franchise quarterback of the future.
Williams' accomplishments are through the roof in 2025, as he broke the franchise record for passing yards in a season and the NFL record for comebacks and game-winning drives led in the regular season and postseason. While watching the tape on Williams, former NFL quarterbacks Derek and David Carr spoke about his game, with Derek offering a quote that should serve more as a warning to the rest of the NFL.
“The scary part about Caleb Williams is that he’s not even close to his ceiling," Derek Carr said. "I think this marriage between Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson, the future is very bright for Chicago. If I’m a Bears fan, they haven’t been this excited in the offseason in a long time. We got a team, we’re going in the right direction…..I’m excited to see it. Can’t wait.”
Caleb Williams appears to be the real deal for the Bears
Williams proved that he can do it all as a passer, as he can make all the throws, including some that are considered to be impossible to make. Bears fans saw it all year, from the DJ Moore touchdown in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers to the fourth-down throw to Rome Odunze in the NFC Wild Card against the Packers again.
Where Williams needs some work is his accuracy. Now, it shouldn't be 100% on him as his receivers had a lot of drops last season, but Williams can still focus on improving to at least 62%, which would be a career high after having a 58% completion percentage in 2025.
The 2026 season feels like it will be different for Williams as he is about to go from being a great quarterback to an elite one. There are already talks of him being in the MVP conversation and being considered a top-20 player in the league.

Chicago fans hope Williams will take that massive leap, as he has been trending in that direction. If he can get it done in 2026, the future is going to look even better for the young QB.
