The Chicago Bears had one of the best late-game touchdown passes of all time despite suffering a tough season-ending loss to the Los Angeles Rams 20-17 in overtime of the NFC Divisional Round.
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was faced with the fourth down and the season on the line when he was able to scramble back to the 40-yard line and, off his back foot, hit tight end Cole Kmet for the game-tying touchdown to force overtime. Everyone was amazed by the throw that Williams made to find Kmet wide open in the end zone.
After the game, despite feeling down about the loss, Bears head coach Ben Johnson was asked about the touchdown pass Williams threw to Kmet. Johnson only needed one word to describe that play.
"Ridiculous."
Ben Johnson had the perfect word to describe touchdown pass by Caleb Williams
It's unfortunate that the play might end up lost in the history books, with Williams' interception in overtime most likely overshadowing its importance. No one ever remembers those plays as they remember how the games ended.
Williams' touchdown pass is a classic example of what Bears fans have been seeing all year from their quarterback. That play should be added to the highlight reel of his time in the NFL and might actually be the best throw he has ever made, and he's made some incredible throws.
While Bears fans will grieve over the playoff loss against the Rams, that Williams' touchdown pass can at least be remembered for the brief moment of hope it gave them. That short time was memorable until it was taken away from Rams safety Kam Curl, who caught the last interception in overtime.

Chicago fans have plenty to be proud of despite not winning the game, and know the future is bright thanks to the man who made one of the best throws ever.
