Did he really say that?

Every NFL offseason has some insane takes, but the latest one is just a complete slap in the face to Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

The panel on ESPN's Get Up was discussing whether the Bears will be able to repeat as NFC North champions despite having the NFL's hardest strength of schedule. ESPN NFL analyst Bart Scott took a wild turn, saying not only is he a fan of the Minnesota Vikings competing to win it, but he also made a bold claim about their new potential starting quarterback, Kyler Murray.

"At the end of this season, I think we may say that Kyler Murray is the best quarterback within that division."

This take is wildly disrespectful to Caleb Willams and the Bears

Minnesota is going through so many changes that they've gotten rid of a lot of its older veteran talent on defense and seems to have moved on from quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Sure, there is still great talent with the Vikings, but this is a team in a competitive division and has a strong chance of finishing last again.

Not only that, but Murray is in a new offensive system and hasn't put together a truly great season in nearly five years. In two of the last three seasons, he's dealt with injuries while playing for the Arizona Cardinals.

Williams, on the other hand, is improving in his first two NFL seasons, as he has had only 13 interceptions in 34 regular-season games, a 1.2% interception rate that is on pace to be the lowest in NFL history. Also, Williams accomplished something in just two seasons that Murray has failed to do in seven NFL seasons: win a playoff game.

In a division where Jared Goff, Jordan Love, and Williams are in, it's completely crazy to say that Murray will be the best one out of the pack. Scott is reaching big time for a take that will get clicks and views. Well, he accomplished that even if it will hurt his reputation in the long run.
