Cole Kmet is making it clear he won’t be left behind at Bears OTAs

Summer's here. The days are getting longer, the temperatures in Chicagoland are (kinda) starting to rise, and the Cubs' hype has gotten out of control. Summer really is here.

And with summer, of course, comes OTAs. Arguably the most important part of the entire NFL year. Careers are made – or broken – over these few weeks, as coaches make all their final decisions based on how guys, many of whom are still nursing offseason injuries, look playing in 7-on-7's. It's a wonderful time create opinions that don't matter now and won't matter when the actual football starts.

To that point, I'd argue that right now, no player on the Bears' roster elicits more opinions than Cole Kmet. Did you know he's from Chicago? Kmet has been a good-and-sometimes-occasionally-very-good player for the Bears for a while now, even if he hasn't quite found a way to develop into the star that everyone in Chicago expected him to. When the Bears used their first round pick on Michigan tight end Colston Loveland this year, it led to some speculation that Kmet's time in Chicago may be coming to an end.

But now we have one (1) single tweet that disproves all of that! The Kmetaissance is here.

Let's all jump to conclusions about one Cole Kmet tweet from Bears OTAs

What a time, what a tweet. We'll always remember where we were when Cole Kmet had a nice day, getting moved around in alignment and motion. The memory of him catching several balls in OTAs will forever be seared into my memory. We SHOULD be seeing *some* 12 personnel this year, so true.

If you want to get really into OTA stats and performances, don't let me stop you. The internet is too miserable in every way to get even more worked up about a few Cole Kmet tweets. If this is what gets you through the day, I'm certainly not one to judge. But just remember how many Bears defensive players, you know, weren't on the field for Kmet's several catches. Also, maybe just remember the last decade of Kmet's actual stats.

Actually, forget that. Don't listen to me – do what you want. Embrace the Kmetaissance with all your heart if you wish. That's the beauty of OTAs – none of it actually matters.
