Chicago Bears fans have been eager to see their first-round pick, Colston Loveland, on the practice field for training camp, and he has not disappointed. That news hasn't seemed to reach everyone.

Bleacher Report writer Matt Holder shared his top five list of the Offensive Rookie of the Year candidates in 2025. Loveland was mentioned, but did not make the cut as Holder is worried about his targets in Year 1.

"While new head coach Ben Johnson will likely lean on a lot of 12 personnel with Cole Kmet and Loveland, that will still eat into the rookie's targets and it's hard enough for tight ends to win OROY. Brock Bowers had the best rookie season at the position in NFL history and came in second place last year."

Loveland is going to surprise some people in 2025

There is a strong chance that Kmet and Loveland are going to be on the field at the same time and could rotate in at tight end, but the Bears picked Loveland as the 10th overall pick. That means Johnson is not going to be scared to put a guy he handpicked himself on the field more often.

Many people see Loveland as the next Sam LaPorta. Johnson loved using LaPorta in the Detroit Lions' offense as the offensive coordinator and could move Loveland around the same way that LaPorta was used.

Johnson is going to sling the ball around and tell his quarterback, Caleb Williams, not to be afraid to get it to the tight end. Don't be surprised if Kmet and Loveland are lining up as receivers in the offense.

Loveland has a chance to prove how great he can be, and so far, he has in training camp. If Loveland becomes too good to be on the bench, the Bears still have the option to trade Kmet and make Loveland the number one guy.

The NFL shouldn't be sleeping on Loveland as he's going to put up bigger numbers than expected. He has a chance to be like Bowers and insert himself in the conversation for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
