Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland has been the talk of the town after his spectacular game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and now he could make a little franchise history that his teammate, Rome Odunze, never did.

Loveland is looking to repeat his six-catch, 118-yard, and two-touchdown performance from last week in the Bears' showdown against the New York Giants. If he is able to gain over 100 yards per second in consecutive games, that would be the first time this has happened since 1983, and it has only happened twice in Bears history, according to ESPN Research.

"Bears tight end Colston Loveland had career highs in receiving yards (118) and touchdowns (two) last week. He is looking to become the third rookie in franchise history with 100 or more receiving yards in consecutive games (Harlon Hill, twice, in 1954 and Willie Gault in 1983)."

Loveland has a legit chance of getting it done

The Giants may have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL, but the secondary has struggled mightily, which leaves an opening for Loveland and company to step up. What propelled the performance from Loveland last week was the injury to Cole Kmet, who suffered a concussion. However, he is expected to return for the Giants, which could hinder Loveland's numbers.

One thing to note is the struggles of Odunze, who is averaging 44.2 yards per game but has yet to score a touchdown in the last four matches. Odunze's issues on the field right now could be one opening for Loveland to have another stellar game.

After just 54 yards in his first four NFL games, Loveland has picked up some steam with 180 and two scores in the last three games. Loveland has only one game this year in which he has had over 40 yards, which was against the Bengals last week.

Chicago is going to lean on their rookie tight end to have another great game to make sure the team is able to get to win number six on the season.
