D'Andre Swift got brutally honest about Bears after close win over Vikings

He's not wrong, though.

One thing the Chicago Bears have been accustomed to doing this season is winning the close, ugly games, and they had to do it again against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

After giving up a touchdown pass with under one minute to go in the game, a Devin Duvernay kickoff return to inside the Vikings' 40-yard line made the game-winning drive for the Bears much easier. Chicago running back D'Andre Swift helped the Bears get closer on three runs, so Cairo Santos can nail his game-winning field goal to give his team a critical 19-17 road NFC North win over the Vikings.

Swift was asked after the game about winning the game over the Vikings. He did not hold back on what the team needs to do moving forward.

"It's good to come out with a win anyway you draw it up, but we need to go ahead and play complete at the end of the season. So, hopefully, we pick it up by that time."

"We need to put teams away early."

Bears know how to close out games, but Swift is on the money

This season, the Bears have five wins where they had to come from behind on the final offensive drive of games to pull out a victory. It has not been an easy road for this Chicago team to grab much-needed wins, but they are 7-3 because they can close out teams.

Swift has been a significant reason for many of these games being closed out, and that was more of the same against the Vikings. He finished with 21 carries for 90 yards, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. While his longest run of the game was just from 11 yards, Swift dominated the Vikings' defense with multiple three, four, and five-yard runs throughout the game.

Chicago does need to figure out ways to play a complete four quarters and blow teams out because getting in these close games will eventually bite them in the butt. It's working out now, but these are against teams with losing records. Once they start playing playoff-caliber teams like the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Philadelphia Eagles, they won't be able to get away with that.

It's okay for the Bears to celebrate the close wins when they get them, but at some point, they need to address getting this cleaned up and earn a convincing victory.
