The Chicago Bears fan base has plenty to be excited about for the 2026 season after the performance that quarterback Caleb Williams put up.
Williams finished with a franchise-record 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions, adding another three scores on the ground as he took the Bears to the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs after winning the NFC North and taking down the Green Bay Packers in the first round. With 2025 behind the Bears, NFL experts are giving their way-too-early 2026 predictions, with ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano going all in on Williams winning the NFL MVP.
"I see the arrow pointing up for Williams with Ben Johnson and a Bears team that arrived well ahead of schedule. Williams has that fourth-quarter clutch gene, and even if the Bears fix their defense to where he doesn't need as many clutch performances, he should have plenty of opportunities to showcase his abilities in a tough NFC North."
Caleb Williams predicted to win the 2026 NFL MVP
Getting the negative stuff out of the way, yes, Williams struggled with accuracy over his first two seasons in the NFL, completing 62% in 2024 and 58% in 2025. It is something he has to work on, but his potential is out of this world.
Williams led an NFL record seven comeback and game-winning drives during the regular season and postseason. He did that through the insane throws he made throughout the season, including the game-winning touchdowns to DJ Moore against the Green Bay Packers and his game-tying score to Cole Kmet against the Los Angeles Rams.
There is so much upside potential that comes with Williams, as he, for one, has a ton of talent around him on offense with Moore, Kmet, Colston, Loveland, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, D'Andre Swift, and Kyle Monangai. Not to mention the improved offensive line that went from allowing 68 sacks in 2024 to 24 in 2025.
Williams's best trait is his ability to protect the football and avoid turnovers. In 34 regular season games, he threw just 13 interceptions. That is currently the best interception percentage in NFL history, at 1.2%.
