The Chicago Bears finally got to see right tackle Darnell Wright reach his full potential with the best season of his career.
Wright, a former first-round pick, played well in 2025 as he earned himself a second-team All-Pro selection, joining left guard Joe Thuney and safety Kevin Byard on the All-Pro team, with those two making the first-team. Bears offensive line coach Dan Roushar recently spoke with the media, sharing his thoughts on Wright's development over the last year.
"You know, Darnell has personal recognition being named second-team All-Pro," Roushar said via CHGO. "There were some extreme moments where he played at a really high level. Obviously, he played with an injury. When we look at the tape, he and I and our staff we look at it with him, I think he recognizes how much we need him. The ceiling is incredibly high for the player. He just has to show consistency daily, from starting with technique and then carrying that through action."

Darnell Wright is in for a long career of great play with the Bears
Last season, Wright graded out to be the 14th-best offensive tackle out of 89, according to Pro Football Focus, as he earned an 81.4 grade. On 638 pass blocking snaps, he allowed 19 pressures, three quarterback hits, and three sacks.
The biggest issue with Wright is that he was one of the most penalized offensive linemen in the NFL, with 12 penalties. A lot of those came early in the regular season as he got better as the year went on, but it is an aspect of his game that has to improve.

Chicago needs Wright to continue progressing, as the offensive line has some movement at center and left tackle. As long as he is solidified at right tackle, the Bears should still be in a good spot offensively.
