Davante Adams strikes a chord with Bears fans after latest insulting comments

He's not exactly wrong in his thinking...

The Chicago Bears are in the midst of an 8-game losing streak and, while it could certainly be worse, things feel just about as bad as they can get right now. This organization needs to make major changes come the offseason, and the fan base has very little reason to believe ownership and the front office will get things right.

Over on the East coast, a former Bears rival isn't having too much fun either. But, at least Davante Adams gets to feel what it's like to win a game in the past two months, as the New York Jets are coming off a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Adams, of course, teamed up with another former Packers teammate in quarterback Aaron Rodgers, in a move the Jets figured would be able to right the ship. It hasn't quite worked out for the Jets, but Adams isn't ready to call it a career just yet.

In a recent interview with NFL analyst and personality Kay Adams, Davante acknowledged he doesn't have a lot of years left in this league. But, one thing he won't do? He wouldn't dare play in Chicago.

More Bears news:

"I have a crazy question for you," Adams said. "Would you ever play for the Bears?"

"No ... never," he replied.

"Look, I'm not playing too much longer as it is, so on my last days in this league, after all I've been blessed with, I'm not going to Chicago ... I respect I've played but, I'm not playing for the Bears," Adams finished.

Davante Adams isn't wrong with his recent sentiments in reference to the Bears

First of all, this kind of take is somewhat refreshing on one hand. For a former Packer to say he'd never play for the Bears ... that's kind of how it should be, right? No Packer fan would want to see Adams suit up for the Bears.

Likewise, it would have been equally as painful for Bears fans to see a player like Brian Urlacher, Matt Forte or Deven Hester go play for the green and gold before they retired. It just isn't right, and I respect that.

But, the way Adams answered the question almost insinuated he was laughing at the Bears for their continued incompetence. And for that, he's not wrong.

There are plenty of reasons why players wouldn't want to play in Chicago, and they stem from one George McCaskey. It's no secret at this point. McCaskey is arguably a bottom-five owner in the NFL. The Bears continue to get things wrong, whether it be front office hires, coaching hires, draft misses, etc.

If I was Adams, I wouldn't want to come to Chicago, either, right now. Sure, Caleb Williams has a ton of promise. But, the offense has plenty of weapons as it is, and they haven't been able to get it done. Why would Adams believe things could be different?

Chicago has a ton to prove not only to their fan base, but the football world as a whole.
