After seeing the Chicago Bears in person with the Cleveland Browns last season, linebacker Devin Bush couldn't have imagined that he would now be in the Windy City with the Bears.
At the beginning of free agency, Bush signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Bears to become their new starting linebacker and replace Tremaine Edmunds, who was released from the team. Bush made his first public comments since joining the Bears, chatting with the media about why he signed with the team.
"I want to be a part of it," Bush said via The Score's Chris Emma. "Big reason why I signed here. So, I'm coming in ready to work. There's not going to be no drop off. There's not going to be no adjustment period. I'm going to come in here (for) Year 8, I'm going to be expected to come in and learn the playbook and produce."
Devin Bush explains his why for picking the Bears
Last season was a career season for Bush in his second year with the Browns. He finished with a career-high 125 tackles with the Browns last season in his second and last year there.
Chicago also brought back D'Marco Jackson on a new deal to solidify their linebacker room. It will be Bush and T.J. Edwards as the starters, and Jackson with 2025 fourth-round pick Ruben Hyppolite II rotating into the games.
Bush brings a different energy to the team than Edmunds did. Bush has proven himself to be a reliable starter and just a better fit for what Chicago needs on their defense. While Edmunds had some nice moments, he just couldn't live up to the expectations of being a two-time Pro Bowler with the Buffalo Bills.

Making a move like Bush should get Bears fans excited, as he is younger at 27 and playing the best football of his career. Chicago's linebacker room got a lot better with Bush in the picture.
