Did Jaquan Brisker secretly throw shade at Matt Eberflus in response to CeeDee Lamb?

A very important investigation.

The short answer? No.

Semantics aside, let's get down to business. I've gathered you all here today to Talk About Tweets. There's perhaps nothing more important to the NFL's modern ecosystem than tweets – they drive trades, tip off insiders, and keep everyone entertained in the bleak winter months that would otherwise be spent debating the best option at WR5. They're the lifeblood of what's actually important about professional sports: gossip.

Jaquan Brisker tweets. He tweets a bunch. He is, arguably, the Bears' most prolific tweeter. So it really shouldn't come as much of a surprise to see him tweet about, presumably, the recent video of CeeDee Lamb calling the Bears trash. The video bounced around Bears Twitter for most of Wednesday night, and everyone behaved totally normally about it. And while Brisker doesn't mention anyone on the Cowboys specifically, it's hard to ignore the timing. It's peak subtweeting, which makes me wonder: is this kinda about Matt Eberflus? Maybe just a little bit?

(Look, it'll be way easier to tolerate this blog if you just play along.)

Jaquan Brisker probably wasn't throwing shade at Matt Eberflus. But also, maybe he was.

Eberflus is, after all, the Cowboys' new defensive coordinator. The Lamb video clearly was what motivated him to Take To Twitter, but it's not hard to imagine a world where some lingering Eberflus feelings played a role. Emotions are complicated, and losing 14 games in a row does things to a man. In that sense, Lamb wasn't wrong. But like Brisker mentions (also in a tweet, of course), it's not like the Cowboys have been a whole lot better.

So, ultimately, no can be sure what this tweet is about. Anyone who says otherwise is fooling you. Some people may think it's not that serious, and they'd be wrong. Tweets are that serious. Few things are more impactful than a devastating QT, and each one demands only the highest level of scholarly analysis. It may look like Brisker's simply calling out Lamb, but at second glance, you start to realize it's actually a devastating and comprehensive takedown of the HITS principals. Such is the power of tweets.

Remember: nothing is ever truly as it seems. If you see a tweet – any tweet at all – it's probably safe to assume it has something to do with Matt Eberflus.
