The Chicago Bears have had several narrow, some might say lucky, wins this season. But nothing was quite like the Week 16 win over the Green Bay Packers, which was the sixth time they've won after trailing in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter.
According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, those six wins despite trailing in the final two minutes of a game are the most in a season since the 1970 merger.
A bout of clock mismanagement by head coach Ben Johnson, akin to that of his predecessor, Matt Eberflus, yielded a field goal that narrowed the Packers' lead to seven, not coming before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter.
Recovering an onside kick has been an even lower-percentage play in recent years, but the Bears recovered their onside attempt and quickly scored a touchdown to force overtime. After the Packers failed to convert a fourth down on the first possession of overtime, Caleb Williams again came up clutch with a 46-yard touchdown to DJ Moore.
DJ Moore cites two people who are most responsible for Bears' success
It's safe to say Moore owned his moment after his game-winning catch against the Packers. He channeled Bears' fans with his words to FOX's Tom Rinaldi on the field, and he followed that by wearing a foam cheese grater hat in the postgame locker room.
At his locker after the game, Moore was asked what he would attribute the Bears' success to.
"I don't know. It's amazing, right? We got RIP Virginia on our side, we got the season on our side, we got Ben on our side. It's really Virginia and Ben, so really kudos to them, and we're just going out there playing our butts off."
DJ Moore asked about the Bears 4th QTR magic.

Adam Jahns of CHGO passed along additional comments from Moore along a similar line.
"It got a lot to do with Virginia looking over us, and then probably Ben being on our ass every time. We don't want to go into Mondays or any day with a loss to watch the film."
Moore, of course, referenced Virginia McCaskey, the Bears' matriarch, who passed away earlier this year at age 102. Her memory is honored via a bright orange "VHM" patch on the front of players' jerseys.

Where past Bears' teams have failed to win games in critical moments, this year's squad finds ways to win when their opponents wilt. That's a credit to Johnson and the tone of accountability and belief he has set from Day 1. And as Moore noted, a little bit of divine presence never hurts.
