DJ Moore openly admits that he's ready for the Bears season to be over

I'm not sure this is a big deal, but sports talk radio sure is!

This Bears season is a wash. You know that, I know that, and DJ Moore knows that.

Unfortunately, there are still three games left. That's so many games. And one of those is against the Packers! But if you haven't been able to tell by, I don't know, the last 12 quarters of Chicago Bears football, no one seems particularly interested in the last month of the season.

In fact, Moore said the quiet part out loud this week when talking to reporters in the locker room. When asked about how he thinks the Bears can improve this offseason and find their footing for next year, Moore's response was, uh, telling.

DJ Moore admits that he's already thinking about his offseason vacation plans

"What I'm thinking about? Vacation," Moore said. "Let them do all the work, and then just come back and be ready to go."

I think there are a couple ways to look at this. One, of course, is the bombastic way. Twitter's already there. Moore's given up! He's been a weirdly-dismissive leader all season and this is just par for the course! The Cardinals game!! You could absolutely go that way and probably be taken at least somewhat seriously. It's been a bad season all around, but Moore's body language has stood out among the mess at times. Think about how over this Bears season you are, and you haven't been tackled once. But if you can believe it, Chicago sports talk radio jumped on this soundbite like their holiday bonuses counted on it.

Alternatively, you could simply not care! The players sure don't. (I'm sorry, it was just right there.) Maybe Moore was hinting that he's extremely over the season, but also, maybe he was just talking about how he's excited to go on vacation this offseason? He was, after all, asked about the offseason. And I bet his vacation plans are pretty exciting. It's obviously not something that said radio hosts bother worrying about, but the context of Moore's answer seems pretty important here.

Either way, this is what happens when you have nothing to play for and still have to answer questions like you do. We don't have the energy to overanalyze actual football, so we're going to overanalyze locker room quotes. If you think it's bad now, just wait for another month until mock drafts arrive; then I too will only be thinking about vacation.
